The Holistic Progress Card (HPC) is an integral component of the transformative vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It shifts assessment away from merely measuring academic achievement and toward understanding and supporting the overall development of every learner. Rather than treating marks and examination scores as the primary indicators of achievement, the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) foregrounds learning transitions—the ways children grow, adapt, and deepen their understanding over time. It documents progress across cognitive, social, emotional, physical, ethical, and creative domains, offering a fuller and more meaningful picture of learning.
